Browser Support Notice - January 2016

Internet Explorer 6 and 7 Support

In April 2014 the extended support period for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Internet Explorer version 6 ended. In addition the mainstream support period for Microsoft Windows Vista and Internet Explorer version 7 also came to an end.

After the 13th March 2016, Quickstream will no longer support Internet Explorer version 6 or Internet Explorer version 7. Users attemping to log in using these browsers will no longer be able to access Quickstream.

Internet Explorer 8 Support

In Jan 2016, Microsoft stopped providing security updates for Internet Explorer version 8, 9 and 10. Internet Explorer 8 supports only older encryption technology. Security researchers have found potential flaws in this technology. This makes Internet Explorer 8 unsuitable for use on secure websites.

After the 13th March 2016, Quickstream will no longer support Internet Explorer version 8. Users attemping to log in using this browsers will no longer be able to access Quickstream.

Which web pages are affected?

If you access Quickstream using one of the following URL's and you are using Internet Explorer version 6, 7 or 8 you may not access Quickstream.

 


 

What will I see when accessing Quickstream with an unsupported browser?

When accessing Quickstream via one of the affected URLs you will be presented with instructions on how to upgrade your version of Internet Explorer. If you are viewing the web page in compatibility view in Internet Explorer 9, 10 or 11 you will be given instructions on how to switch this off.

How can I continue to access Quickstream? 

You must upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 or another browser to continue to access Quickstream. You may need to discuss this upgrade with your system administrator.
