PaymentsPlus - Important Information About Payee Address Updates

From Monday, 28 September 2026, payee addresses for real-time gross settlement (RTGS) and overseas telegraphic transfers (OTT) payments made through PaymentsPlus need to comply with global payment standards. This information is required to meet global standards, reducing the risk of delays and increasing data quality.

Action required

PaymentsPlus clients are asked to please review your payee addresses in your ERP or other system to ensure the below details are included for RTGS and OTT payments to be processed from Monday, 28 September 2026. At a minimum, the following address details are required:

  • RTGS: if using ISO 20022 or a custom file format and including an address, the city and country are required. If no address is included, you can continue to make RTGS payments without this information

  • OTT: city and country are required.

After this date, payments without these payee address details be rejected. You will be notified of any rejected payments, including the reason, via the PaymentsPlus response file.

  1. Which fields need to be updated?

For RTGS, if including an address, the city and country are required. If no address is included, you can continue to make RTGS payments without this information.

For OTTs, the city and country are required as minimum.

 

  1. If we don’t currently provide an address in RTGS payments, is one required?

If an address is not included in RTGS payments, you can continue to make RTGS payments without this information.

 

  1. Is there any change to the field lengths?

There is no change to field lengths.

 

  1. What happens if these updates are not made?

From Monday, 28 September 2026, payments without these payee address details will be rejected. Clients will be notified of any rejected payments, including the reason, via the PaymentsPlus response file or on screen in PaymentsPlus.
